Artist's Comments

My final piece completed for my A2 level 12 hour exam.

Marks are mostly based on execution of quality and links made within your sketchbook. So yes, if you had access to my book from start to finish it may make some more sense to you ;D

Having looked at Dadaism and doing numerous collages and drawings, my work seemed to always have a slightly... religious aspect to it. Or images/symbolism, without me even noticing. Therefore I did a piece drawn from collages that I had done, that was based on discord of medium, subject matter and concepts.

The piece is done in coloured pencil, at roughly A2 size. As I said, done in the 12 hours with 10 minutes to spare :) Would love to hear what you think ;D

Oh and I know there are a few errors... simply due to coloured pencil not being able to be rubbed out at all. The brightness / colours are also a bit off in this photo. Due to the darkness of the image originally. I will attempt to scan it, once my work has been moderated.

michelangelo's base, am i correct? Freaky illustration, but a nice one at that. The texture's nice. I guess that is what made it nice. :)

Yay! I thought I wouldnt mention Michelangelo, simply to see if it was obvious enough.

I tried to keep it as close to the original while keeping the perspectives/grips etc. a little off to keep it looking... 'freaky' ;D

Well, it's not the deviation I say freaky . . . it's just the title, since it really is true. :D

Nice one Jang to the mai :) i'm sure you'll do well, can't fault this at all! I think a background of greys would compliment it better, but time is rare during these exams! :glomp:

Haha, aye. I was going to do a background if I had time in the exam... but I didnt ^^

With 10 min to spare all I could do was write the first few sentences of a conlcusion :)

I kept fairly honest to what I had in my sketchbook. Including my trip to Budapest... learnt alot from that trip and the wonderful city.
