The finished result of my first attempt at using biros for a piece. I'm happy with all but one thing, but I think thats me being picky.

I half did this in mind of :icongabbyd70:'s portrait contest, I find things like that are required to motivate me atm :D. I wasnt going to submit as its kinda for my A2 levels aswell, but rethinking I thought why not :) give something back to those who've inspired me.

I'm thinking of doing my next piece in a coloured medium, whether that be digital, acrylic or watercolour, im not certian. But generally I'm happy with this piece, and have learnt the true values of gradual build up in shade. (Though biros do have a tendancy to randomly blob! and stop working :S)

(PS: Must scan it! looks better on paper ;D)

Thankyou! :D It was nice really to ahve a change from pencil, using something more harsh and perminent made me look at things differently, a good experience all round :)

yes i can imagine :) i think you did an aweome job with it, :) you an still use a lot of teqniques you use with a pencil though :)

but yes you get a harsher feel, and for the older generation it really works
