's portrait contest, I find things like that are required to motivate me atm 
. I wasnt going to submit as its kinda for my A2 levels aswell, but rethinking I thought why not 
give something back to those who've inspired me.

I do love pen portraits, I think this medium is one of the best for what you have done here, in that the sketchy lines and work so well to create the wrinkled face, provoking more feelings of age and history. The line work is really what got me, its intricate and although messier in places it's easy to see the time that has been spent...you can follow the lines and see just how they are built up which adds more interest.
My favourite parts are the eyes, you've done very well with the wrinkles there!
I'd say the hand could use a touch more work and if possible darken inside the mouth a bit more, otherwise this is great!
