Started from direct observation, and finished much much later with photo reference, I've finally (kind of) finished.
I personally dislike it, and the paper I did this on is horrible! I never realized at the time... I've grown too used to the better stuff! Graphites just dont seem to go on it very well.
Also the proportions off... think its due to the change between references, but ahwell. Atleast I can display it for my A level display.

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future,.... nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus, our Lord."
The shading is gorgeous as always The hair and eyes are perfect, but you are right...there is something just not right about this...I think its the lips! But you shouldn't be so hard on yourself
But sadly anything I try to do doesnt go as planned. The paper is so thin and smooth that you either skim the surface lightly, or you stab it and make a dark line, no such gradient between :s

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
